Position Summary

Dr. Roychowdhury in the Division of Internal Medicine at The Ohio State University (OSU) College of Medicine and Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking to recruit a Research Scientist in the field of cancer genomics.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for sequencing analysis for research projects, including producing data for future grant submissions to expand laboratory efforts for precision medicine in advanced cancers.

Specifically, the candidate is expected to:

  • Develop, adopt, and implement analysis methods for various data types

  • Stay up to date on best practices and new analysis methods for various genomic data types

  • Understand scope of ongoing projects and adhere to established timelines

  • Contribute to grant proposals of original research submitted to outside funding agencies

  • Extract, compile, analyze, and evaluate raw data from databases

  • Contribute to generating figures and table for manuscripts, articles, abstracts and research reports for publication in peer-reviewed journals

  • Ensure accountability for compliance to federal and institutional laboratory safety regulations

  • Collaborate with senior investigators, post-doctoral researchers, graduate students and technicians within laboratory

  • Contribute to clerical duties as needed for good laboratory practice

Job Requirements

Doctoral Degree and 4+ years of post-doctoral research experience as demonstrated by a strong publication record in the field of cancer genomics. Demonstrated ability to be a competent and productive researcher (i.e. incumbent will have authored several publications of considerable interest and value to the field as evidenced by favorable reviews, by citation in the work of others, by presentations of papers to professional societies, and/or will have contributed inventions, new designs, or techniques which are of material significance in the solution of important applied problems).
