Who is Saint Louis University? Founded in 1818, Saint Louis University is one of the nation's oldest and most prestigious Catholic universities. Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, health care, and service is seeking applicants specializing in clinical psychology for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Psychology, beginning August 2026. Applicants from all areas will be considered; although, applicants with a child/adolescent focus that complements current concentrations would be desirable. Current concentrations include clinical child/adolescent psychology, clinical neuropsychology, health psychology, diversity and minority mental health, trauma psychology, sports psychology, and community psychology.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical/counseling psychology from an APA- or CPA-accredited program and be licensed or license-eligible as a Health Service Provider psychologist in Missouri. Applicants must clearly demonstrate the ability to: 1) provide exceptional teaching, advising, and mentoring at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, 2) provide clinical supervision in our on-site Psychological Services Center training clinic, and 3) establish and maintain a productive, ongoing program of research with potential for independent or collaborative external funding as available.

We seek candidates committed to diversity and inclusion in teaching, research, and mentoring who are dedicated to racial and social justice, equity, and serving others (see University Mission Statement). The successful applicant for this position will become a faculty member of our APA-accredited Clinical Psychology doctoral program, which adheres to a scientist-practitioner training model. Interest in providing clinical supervision and teaching at the undergraduate (e.g., Abnormal Psychology, General Psychology) and graduate level (e.g., Assessment, Psychopathology, Interventions, Ethics) is desirable.

Excellent facilities and a competitive start-up package are provided. The Department of Psychology has 26 full time faculty, a large undergraduate studies program, and doctoral programs in clinical psychology, industrial-organizational psychology, and experimental psychology (with concentrations in cognitive neuroscience, developmental psychology, and social psychology). As an institution, Saint Louis University was recently recognized as a Carnegie Research 1 University.
