DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this this position, you will provide protective services for clients who are in danger of abuse, neglect, exploitation, or abandonment and who are having difficulty maintaining a safe and healthful independent lifestyle. This includes investigating referrals of abuse, neglect, abandonment, and exploitation according to protective services legislation, rules, regulations, and operating procedures of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Fluency in both English and Spanish is essential for gathering the medical, psychological, and financial information we need to understand our clients and to establish good working relationships with them, their family members, and other significant persons in their lives. You will analyze and report on medical, psychological, and financial information needed to maintain an ongoing case record and ensure each client's needs are effectively identified and to aid in the resolution of each person's specific problems or situations. Your work with our team will also involve collaborating and consulting with other professional staff in specialized program areas through participation in joint home visits, case conferences, and team meetings. You will act in an advisory role to other professional staff in specialized areas as well as liaise with other social agencies, hospitals, clinics, courts, law enforcement organizations, and other community resources in planning to meet the needs of our clients and to assist clients in utilizing these available resources. Our team will rely on your professional experience and judgment to maintain confidentiality standards and make recommendations for cases that require financial protection or court intervention. - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as an Aging Care Manager 2 or Aging Program Assessor; or
- One and one-half years of professional human services, law enforcement, or nursing experience; and a bachelor's degree in social sciences, behavioral sciences, human services, or a closely related field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes six months of professional human services, law enforcement, or nursing experience.
Other Requirements:
- This particular position requires the selected candidate to be able to read, write, and speak in Spanish. You may be contacted for a Spanish speaking proficiency evaluation conducted by the Bureau of Talent Acquisition, PA Office of Administration. If contacted, you must pass the speaking evaluation in order to be deemed eligible for this position. Your proficiency in reading and writing in Spanish must be demonstrated during the probationary period to achieve regular status in the position.

Legal Requirements:
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
