 The Physical Therapist Clinician II is primarily responsible for the delivery of physical therapy care to the patient population to which she/he is assigned and the recording of that care in the hospital medical record.
 
 The therapist acts as a consultant to various patient populations.
 
 The Physical Therapist Clinician II provides instruction to OT/PT support staff, PT students, personnel of other disciplines within VCUHS, and patient and/or family members. Therapists may rotate through our various clinical service areas.
 Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:DaysLicensed (or licensure eligible) by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Physical Therapist
 
 Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment:
 Current license by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Physical Therapist
 Current CPR Certification if required by clinic or practice area
 
 Experience REQUIRED:
 Minimum of 1 year of work experience as a Physical Therapist
 
 Experience PREFERRED: N/A
 
 Education/training REQUIRED:
 Graduate of an accredited School of Physical Therapy
 
 Education/training PREFERRED:
 Masters or Doctoral Degree from an accredited School of Physical Therapy
 Successful challenge of the VCUHS Physical Therapy Clinical Ladder
 
 Independent action(s) required:
 Patient evaluation and implementation of intervention programs, discharge planning.
 Ordering equipment.
 Representing department at rounds and discharge conferences.
 Scheduling and charging patients.
 
 Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable):
 Employee may have supervisory responsibilities of Physical Therapist Assistants, Patient Care Technicians, students, and volunteers.
 Employee is a member of a self-directed team and applies his/her knowledge and experience in daily clinic problem solving.
 The team will bring unresolved issues to departmental manager for assistance and guidance in their resolution.
 
 Additional position requirements:
 Employee is expected to share in weekend and holiday schedule expectations of the department or have a fluctuation of daily work hours from 8 AM to 7 PM based on patient population needs.
