Overview:

Perform duties of Quality Control Evaluation testing, evaluation, validation of processes, and training of distribution center work force in Quality Management.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify, examine, classify, inspect and report on specific and general issues of quality assurance and Quality Management. Examinations may be visual or require measuring devices and techniques.
  • Assists Project Lead in creation and implementation of Quality Control Plan
  • Conducts Quality Control checks on completed project work
  • Executes mock audits to ensure project team members are executing IAW DLA SOP's
  • Reports Non-Conforming results to Project Lead
  • Tracks QCP results and prepares reports
  • Validate processes through statistical sampling and other measuring techniques.
  • Perform first article inspections as required.
  • Prepare reports as required.
  • Receive data from, and input data to Distribution Standard System (DSS) and other automated systems in performance of duties.
  • Quality Control point of contact for distribution mission.
  • Assist in reviews of inventory process, COSIS process, packaging and shipping processes to ensure continued emphasis on continuous process improvement.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervisory responsibilities are not anticipated.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Two years of college is preferred. (May substitute experience for education on a year-by-year basis).
  • Minimum two years' general experience.
  • Minimum of two years' specific experience in areas of inspection, quality assurance, and related areas.
  • Able to successfully certify in Safety, Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) and radioactive training requirements. Must be current in all certifications within 30 to 60 days of selection for position.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Suite of products including, Word, Excel, Access and E-mail business software.
  • Must demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a Team.
  • Position requires self-motivation and the ability to work effectively under a minimum of supervision.
  • Must be able to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects, and have a strong attention for detail.
  • Able to use processes of inspection/examination procedures for material. *
  • Able to read specifications, drawings, prints, schematics and photographs. *
  • Must be able to follow requirements of MIL-STD 129.

  • None.

Security Clearance:

SECRET Level Required

  • Must have a current US Government SECRET Personnel Security Clearance or be able to successfully complete a U.S. government administered Investigation.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must also be able to maintain a US Government SECRET clearance.

Work Environment:

General warehouse/office environment. This position is on Second and or Third Shift. Some travel required between sites based on business demands. Some travel both domestically and internationally required based on business demands.
