| Description HOLT CAT is looking to hire an Intern at our Power Systems Division facility in Longview, Texas-this is an entry-level position under the direction and guidance of our Service Manager. The primary purpose is to learn and develop an understanding of diesel technology and the overall operation of their assigned department. Essential Functions: 
  
 Attends required safety meetings and trainingWorks on self-development Maintains safety training and proceduresOn-the-job training curriculum may include: 
 
    
 Perform maintenanceHelp install, repair, and replace mechanical and electronic componentsClean and/or lubricate machinesExamine and test equipment, components, and parts to ensure proper functioningAdjust, connect, or disconnect wiring, piping, tubing, and other parts, using hand or power toolsAdjust, maintain, and repair equipment and machine components
 
Receives coaching, mentoring, and feedback from Service LeadershipPerforms related duties and fulfills responsibilities as requiredWorks safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standardsRequires regular and punctual employee attendancePerforms other duties as assigned 
 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 
  
 Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and willingness to learnBasic computer skillsGood written and verbal communication skillsTime management and organizational skillsBasic math calculations and the ability to read, write, and understand work instructions
 Education and Experience: 
  
 Currently actively enrolled in a College or Technical School Currently studying in Diesel Technology, Ag Mechanics, or a similar program

 Physical Requirements: 
  
 This position involves extended periods in a stationary position; additionally, frequent movement inside a warehouse environmentThis role frequently communicates with others and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situationsFrequently moves product or equipment weighing up to 35 lbs.Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and staminaAscend/descend with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet, and climb up and down ladders or stairsRoutinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to inspect work visually
