About Duke Health's Patient Revenue Management Organization

Pursue your passion for caring with the Patient Revenue Management Organization, which is Duke Health's fully integrated, centralized revenue cycle organization that supports the entire health system in streamlining the revenue cycle. This includes scheduling, registration, coding, billing, and other essential revenue functions.

ThePRMORevenueManagerservesasaliaisonamongPRMO,OperationalOwnersandMaestroCareClinical/Billinganalyststoassistinthedesign,development,maintenance,trainingandevaluationforassignedMaestroCareclinicalandbusinesssystems to support the revenue cycle. This position will be primarily responsible for design/re-design of workflow, working withMaestro Care Build teams, testing, and validating of application functionality specifically related to charge capture/billing. Thisposition will coordinate all revenue cycle issues that arise for their application area and must be very knowledgeable ofDUHS/PRMOpolicies, procedures, andbusinessoperations.

  • Respond,researchandresolverevenuecycle-relatedinquiries pertainingtoassignedMaestro Care applications.
  • Mustbeabletocommunicateeffectively,providetimelyresponses,identifyresourcestoresolveinquiries.
  • Monitorandmanagefromkeyperformance indicators.
  • Independently completedataanalysis.
  • Monitorandmanagereimbursementchanges.
  • Interpret and implement items communicated through payerpolicies.
  • Providetrainingonchargecapture,reconciliation,andcorrectionasneeded.
  • ResolveaccountsinassignedChargeRouter,ChargeReview.Claim Edit,andFollow-UpWQs.
  • Monitor andmanage keyperformanceindicators.
  • Utilizestandardreportsand/ordevelopnewreportstotrackrevenuecycleperformanceforassignedapplication clinical services.
  • Areas of focus will include denial rates, avoidable write-off, and fulltransaction write-offs,deleted charges.
  • Will also perform ad hoc analyses as requested, e.g., high-dollardrugreimbursement;service/program/codespecificreimbursement;actualchargetobudget chargevariance.
  • Reviewkeymetrics,fromschedulingtobilling&collections,incollaborationwithPRMOManagers.
  • Identifyissuesthroughongoingmonitoringofdepartmentalmetricsand/orthroughroutinemeetings withkeyoperationalmanagerswithinPRMOtofacilitatecommunication.
  • Monitor &managereimbursementchanges.
  • Continuously research and monitor payer regulations; provide education to operational areas.
  • Asapplicable,coordinatewithDHIPRevenueManagerstoeducatephysicianstomeetchangingpayerrequirements/regulations.

  • Must be able to facilitate meeting of multi-disciplinaryteams.

  • ParticipateinroutinemeetingswithCFOs,AVP,ReimbursementRevenueAccountingtoprovideupdatesoncurrent revenuecycleissues/priorities.
  • Provideservicelinespecificstrategicplanning/prioritiestoPRMOleadershipthroughRevenue ManagerCouncils/OperationsMeetings.
  • Coordinateandchair revenue-orientedworkgroupactivitiesand meetings.
  • Shareoperationalchangesto and fromPRMOtohospitalandphysicianpractices.
  • Developorparticipateinfocusedworkgroupstoaddresstopicssuchasregistration,billing& collections,codingandchargecapture,MaestroCareapplications.
  • Facilitatediscussionsandstrategiestoaddressoperationalissues.
  • ManagingcommunicationsbetweenPRMOandHospitalOperationalOwnersandProviders.
  • OrganizeandleadworkgroupstoroutinelymeetwithOperationsregardingPRMOfunction,issues,trends,etc., affectingrevenuecycleperformance.
  • Actively participate in service line specific strategic planning around revenue cycle prioritization andplanning.
  • Arrangerevenuecycle trainingactivities.
  • Maintain exceptional customer service, fortifying expectation of consistent professionalism and expertise.
  • Mustbecapableofsettingprioritiesandworkingunderpressure.
  • Coordinatedactivitiesareexpectedtobecarriedoutwithminorsupervision.
  • Escalateissuesasneeded.

MinimumQualifications

Education

Bachelor'sdegreerequired.Master'sdegreepreferred.

Experience

Atleast6+yearsofrelevantHealthcareCareexperiencepreferablyin Charge Integrity isrequired.

Strongleadershipcapabilitieswithdemonstratedabilitytolead,motivate,andcollaborateeffectivelywithHospitalleadership.

Strongoralandwrittencommunicationskills.

Degrees,Licensures,Certifications

Coding certification (e.g. CCS, CPC, RHIA, RHIT), HFMA CHFP (Certified Healthcare Professional), CRCR (CertifiedRevenueCycleRepresentative)preferred.
