Job Summary

The Physician Network Development Specialist 3 utilizes department and strategy software tools to conducts trend analyses and manage/develop recommendations re:Primarily focusing on referral patterns by county and interventions for referring practices tapering in referral volume.

They will also prepares and presents referral data for monthly outreach and marketing committee meetings to review strategy efforts to further support Neurosurgery strategic growth. Review monthly clinic volumes and discuss projected volumes for upcoming quarter. Based on volumes/dips, outreach efforts are determined and implemented along with strategy and p hysician liaison team members. Also, review of incoming referrals from external organizations, such as Brain Tumor Foundation. Partner with network finance director to review full network financial trends and data included (but not limited to) surgical conversion rates from outreach sites.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is starting at $90,700(min) - $142,100 (mid) $193,500 (max) (Annual Rate).

The Department of Neurological Surgery at UCSF is home to leading physicians and scientists dedicated to treating patients with neurosurgical disorders and to the search for better therapies and cures. Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • 3-5 years related experience
  • Strong knowledge of health care industry trends. Advanced knowledge of the medical center or health system's product lines and services
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills to perform complex market and financial analysis
  • Creative problem-solving skills to assess opportunities and issues and develop solutions
  • Strong interpersonal communication, relationship building and political acumen skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and technical skills to learn specialized applications and tools in the field
  • Thorough knowledge of University rules and regulations, processes, protocols and procedures for budget, accounting and fund management, and / or personnel management
  • Thorough knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques, and / or human resources policies and procedures for staff and academic employees
  • Ability to identify issues, gather and analyze information, and offering logical solutions and mitigating risks
