Overview:
Are you a strategic and collaborative marketing professional - someone who thrives in a creative fast-paced environment? Come lead our marketing team supporting HGA's Public|Corporate practice in a newly created role - Sector Marketing Manager! We are seeking a strategic and collaborative Sector Marketing Manager to lead and execute marketing initiatives across our national and regional sectors. This role partners closely with Market Sector Leaders (MSLs) to develop and oversee regional marketing plans and align them with the national sector marketing strategy. Highlighted key responsibilities:
Partner with MSLs to develop and implement the national sector marketing strategy and regional marketing plans.
- Guide principals and business developers in creating and executing annual marketing plans, including setting goals, identifying targets, and tracking metrics.
- Collaborate with national marketing and communications teams to deliver integrated marketing efforts across branding, communications, sponsorships, client events, digital campaigns, awards, and project photography.
- Manage a team of sector marketing coordinators, providing leadership and oversight on pursuit efforts and business development support.
- Ensure consistency and quality across all sector marketing activities, driving visibility and engagement with key clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in marketing strategy development and execution, preferably in a professional services or B2B environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
This role would be located in Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Sacramento, San Francisco, Santa Monica, Boston, or Washington, DC.
In this role you will:
Branding/Messaging:
- under the umbrella of the overall HGA brand, establishes the national sector brand message framework which distinguishes us from our competition and addresses client needs
- oversee the creation of sector-specific marketing collateral, including brochures, case studies, presentations, and web content;
- guide the development of award submissions, sponsorships, conference presentations, and thought leadership pieces to enhance visibility and credibility;
- collaborate with communications and digital teams to promote sector projects, news, and expertise across digital channels;
- monitor industry trends, competitor positioning, and client needs to inform marketing strategy and storytelling; and
- partner with corporate team and sector leadership to develop sector photography and video strategy
Planning/Strategy:
- develop and implement annual marketing plans to achieve national sector goals and align with firm goals;
- synthesize annual Principal plans into results-oriented marketing and business development materials; and
- develop a deep understanding HGA's industry and how its business works.
Budgeting/Metrics:
- manage sector-related marketing budgets and ensure ROI on key initiatives; and
- in partnership with marketing leadership and sector operations, work to develop effective marketing performance metrics; analyze current and past marketing performance; repors on metrics regularly and take actions necessary to improve lagging results.
Business Development Support:
- provide a vision and guidance to marketing coordinators on high level pursuit strategy and approach, as needed; amd
- in partnership with business development, provide planning and execution of client events and other relationship development activities.
Team Leadership:
- oversee a team that coordinates and develops responses to RFQs/RFPs, qualifications packages, and interview materials; provides coaching as necessary; amd
- supervise sector marketing staff; coaches and guides on best practices, conducts performance reviews.

You will need to have:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Architecture, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in marketing or business development, with at least 3 years focused on the architecture, engineering, or construction (AEC) or other professional service industry.
- Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Deltek Vantagepoint)
- Working knowledge of: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat/Reader, Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
- Marketing generalist with exposure to and experience with a wide range of marketing activities
- Strong understanding of the strategy, process, and messaging for pursuits, RFPs, and client interview, and demonstrated collaboration with business development
- Knowledge of AIA, SMPS, or other industry organizations and certifications (e.g., CPSM) is a plus.
- Proofreading, editing and standardizing proposal text for proper grammar, spelling, comprehension and style while adhering to brand standardizations - high attention to detail is critical
- Ability to work in a team and independently, self-starter and able to multitask workload to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of Public (Government) sector and Corporate industries, client building types, common verbiage, etc.
Salary Information:
The pay range listed aligns to the geography of the office for which this position is posted. Actual compensation will be based upon work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Individuals in this role working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible to participate in HGA's robust benefit programs which include an annual bonus and success sharing bonus program, 401(k) guaranteed contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental and life insurance plans as well as PTO and short- and long-term disability programs. Salary Range: $109,900 - $138,800 (adjustments made for geography) depending on qualifications and experience.
