As a Product Journey Lead for Digital, you will be responsible for helping our guests find joy and inspiration through managing the digital experiences. You will also be expected to drive alignment and consensus across a highly matrixed organization, influencing outcomes without direct authority. You will be expected to craft the vision and story for your team holistically, considering both guest and business problems to identify future-focused opportunities. You will also be expected to understand and leverage the vast product ecosystem and strength of the marketing teams across Optum to bring your vision to life. You will work closely with analysts, designers, engineers, product leaders, and business partners across the organization.

As a Senior Product Director, you will set the overall strategic vision for your product space and product team, are accountable for succeeding against identified business outcomes and metrics, will set and manage the product's budget and financials, set the short- and long-term product goals, and quarterly Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).

It will be critical that you possess an understanding of healthcare and/or ecommerce experience, relevant technologies, and design principles in order to drive innovative and scalable solutions across multiple pyramids within Optum. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for building, coaching, and mentoring a strong team of product owners while also building a solid team culture of progress, transparency, and efficiency across Product teams
  • Elevate your collective team's performance by providing insightful, motivating, and constructive feedback to all roles on the team while also working with senior leadership and peers across pyramids to negotiate and remove execution related barriers for your teams
  • Drive product discovery with key stakeholders to validate hypotheses and concepts with customers before committing engineering time, as you lead highly complex work across multiple pyramids, with interrelated specialties
  • Leverage data and analytics to provide competitive analysis, drive decision making, assess the health and effectiveness of your products and related P&L impacts, and to deliver recommendations to key stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of digital product experience
  • Experience with technology and ability to facilitate communication between business and technology teams
  • Experience leading teams with HR accountabilities
  • Deep understanding of business metrics and customer insights, specifically around lifecycle management and customer loyalty
  • Proven passion for consumer, technology, and product trends around customer engagement, personalization, data and privacy
  • Proven solid communication skills and proven ability to influence both at a strategic leadership level and cross functionally
  • Proven expert at working in the agile environment (e.g. user stories, iterative development, scrum teams, sprints, personas)
  • Proven strategic mindset and bias for action with strong ability for strategic planning, defining ORKs and driving business outcomes
  • Proven ability to lead and influence a team while fostering relationships across multiple enterprise-wide teams
  • Proven consumer-centric mindset is essential, ensuring that every product decision is grounded in empathy and a deep understanding of consumer needs

Preferred Qualification:

  • 5+ years of healthcare and/or eCommerce digital experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $156,400 to $268,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
