Valiant has an exciting opportunity for an Ammunitions Handler and Safeguards Specialist to join our team. In this position, you will provide expertise to the Defense Threat Reduction Agency's (DTRA) Nuclear Enterprise Directorate to plan and conduct DTRA to support range activities.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Support ammunition stock control activities
  • Responsible for the forecast, request, transportation, and storage of explosive items
  • Assist in planning kinetic range operations
  • Develop ammunition handling and use safety plan
  • Develop range control instructions and guidance
  • Observe, analyze, assess, and document lessons learned
  • Support range set up and cleaning
  • Provide expertise on joint training processes and procedures
  • Provide training event facilitation
  • Other duties as assigned

  • In control of receiving three to nine weekly ammunition shipments, selecting storage in proper warehouse.
  • Processed over 40 weekly ammunitions requests for military units from Germany and state side.
  • Maintained office organization by routing and filing daily documents including ammunition loss reports and investigations.
  • Team Leaders; 23rd Ordnance Company; Germany (05/2015 to 01/2017).
  • Responsible for the training and wellbeing of eight Soldiers.
  • Supervised 15 military team members who handle over 50 munition items worth $1.5M with consistence no loss or accidents.
  • Monitored daily operations for two storage warehouses providing logistics support for four firing ranges.
  • Transported and stored hazardous materials, in accordance with organization and federal safety regulations.
  • 10+ years as a US Army Special Forces Ammunition Manager
  • US Army Special Forces experience with managing inventories and re-supply of multiple explosives storage sites.
  • US Army experience transporting and storing hazardous materials, in accordance with organization and federal safety regulations.
  • Experience in receiving various ammunition shipments and properly storing munitions.
  • Prior experience working with DTRA
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform tasks under deadlines.
  • Excellent reasoning and problem-solving skills
    Ability to interact with employees from other departments or groups.
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to travel unaccompanied to foreign and domestic locations.


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Prior DTRA experience
  • US Army Special Forces Ammunitions Manager
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office tools


SECURITY CLEARANCE: A current Top-Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility

EDUCAITON: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physical requirements may include, but are not limited to, lifting, ascending, and descending stairs, climbing, extended sitting or standing, to various degrees. This job involves primarily working outdoors and exposure to the temperatures and elements associated with the region.
