Overview

Veeco is seeking a strategic and technically adept Senior Manager, Field Applicationsto lead a team of high-performing process engineers supporting our advanced laser annealing systems. This leadership role is pivotal in driving customer success through process innovation, technical engagement, and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in semiconductor process engineering, excellent communication skills, and a customer-centric approach to help shape and execute field application strategies globally.



Responsibilities


  • Lead and mentor a team of field process engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop deep expertise in Veeco's laser annealing systems, including process capabilities, hardware architecture, and system functionality.
  • Partner with customers to define, develop, and optimize process applications that meet performance and yield targets.
  • Troubleshoot process issues and coordinate with Engineering, Service, and Product Line teams to drive timely resolution.
  • Establish and promote Best Known Methods (BKMs) for process control, development, and deployment across customer sites.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Technology Development teams to influence product enhancements and process innovations.
  • Manage and report on project milestones, deliverables, and customer engagements.
  • Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders.
  • Support training initiatives for internal teams, customers, and partners to ensure consistent technical knowledge and application expertise.
  • Contribute to the development of Market Requirements Documents (MRDs) by providing field insights and customer feedback.


Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field with a minimum of eight years of relevant industry experience is required. Candidates with a Master's degree, MBA, or MBE should have at least six years of experience. A strong background in front-end semiconductor processing is essential, along with demonstrated proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE). Prior leadership experience in customer-facing technical roles is highly preferred.

Salary and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is $170,513- $204,615, plus a bonus opportunity. We will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors when determining your pay.
