Responsibilities

    Act as liaison between the laboratory and patients, Hematopoietic Cell Transplant (HCT) donors, clinicians, other FHCC departments and outside institutions.
  • Enter confidential patient and HCT donor information into the Lab Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Request from the ordering provider, coordinate, schedule and monitor shipments of patient and potential donor specimens to CIL.
  • Document communications with patients, HCT donors and clinicians.
  • Conduct family health screenings for potential HCT donors.
  • Distribute lab reports.
  • Assists Lead with mentoring and guiding new Program Assistants in laboratory workflows after training.
  • Performs additional lab duties including send out kit inventory and records management.
  • Assists lead and management with laboratory projects that include Labco specific workflows.
  • As assigned, performs other duties/ tasks delegated by lead, supervisor, manager, or director.


Qualifications

Required:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Under minimal supervision, ability to use initiative and sound judgment in carrying out responsibilities
  • Ability to communicate verbally in person, on the phone, and in writing in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to use a mouse, navigate computer programs, enter data into computer systems in accurately and efficiently
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, complex healthcare environment
  • Ability to establish professional relationships with patients, families, staff and providers
  • Demonstrated customer service skills

The hourly pay range for this position is from $27.01 to $38.45 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.

1.0 FTE - 40 hours per week - Mon through Fri - 8:30a-5p - Fully Onsite in Downtown Seattle - South Lake Union
