We are seeking a Network Engineer 4 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business Unit. As part of (SES) Strategic Business Unit you will be part of a team that designs, engineers, integrates, operates and maintains electronic security services inclusive of intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audio visual, it systems, perimeter defense and command and control systems for federal, local and commercial customers across high-growth markets.


Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve network outages and system failures.
  • Perform log analysis to determine root causes of network and application issues.
  • Assist with network performance tuning and optimization.
  • Provide mentorship and training to Tier 1 and Tier 2 staff.
  • Lead and manage day-to-day NOC operations during assigned shifts.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Networking teams, Microsoft leadership, and on-shift personnel.
  • Ensure smooth shift transitions through documented pass down briefings.
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and recommend process improvements.
  • Work directly with vendors and architects for high-level issue resolution.
  • Support two-shift coverage for continuous monitoring and operations.
  • Meet with customers to capture specific requirements and support technical strategies.
  • Assist in infrastructure design and deployment activities.
  • Deliver technical presentations and develop documentation for customer systems.
  • Configure network devices via CLI, deploy patches, and optimize Layer 2/3 protocols.
  • Integrate cloud technologies (e.g., ExpressRoute, Azure Virtual Networks) with on-prem infrastructure.
  • Manage network security and traffic across the environment using advanced methodologies.
  • Support WAN/Internet transport and routing technologies such as BGP, MPLS, and SD-WAN (Juniper preferred).
  • Apply expertise in Layer 1-3 technologies and cloud orchestration tools.

Qualifications

Clearance/Citizen Type: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and may meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information. ACTIVE TS/SCI is REQUIRED

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology (IT) or a related discipline 7+ years Progressive Experience
  • Technical Skills:
  • Understanding of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) concepts.
  • Moderate understanding of security issues and implications for network solutions.
  • Moderate knowledge of network concepts, technologies, tools and philosophies, and the ability to design an organization's network infrastructure and services.
  • Moderate knowledge of system development methodology, project management, system architecture and analytical/problem solving skills.

Communication Skills:

  • Strong oral, technical writing, and presentation skills
  • Ability to build productive relationships with team members, clients and other network/system stakeholders.
  • Ability to establish working relationships with others outside area of expertise.

Behavioral Skills:

  • Must be able to balance high quality standards with schedule pressures and demanding environment.
  • Must be a resourceful self-starter, flexible, pro-active, solution-oriented and customer-oriented.

Recommended Experience and Certifications:

  • Experience in reading network and connectivity schematics and plans
  • Experience in reading network installation schematics and plans
  • Experience in network system startup, configuration, and calibration
  • Experience in testing and troubleshooting
  • Experience using basic electrical and machinist hand tools
  • Experience using testing, calibration, or industry-specific tools and software (spectrum analyzer, cable tester, Alignment tool) Tools/Software
  • Experience in computer networks
  • Experience with ticketing and monitoring toolset.
  • Experience in one or more IT/Network platforms, such as: Cisco, AllenBradley, Juniper, PaloAlto, NetGear, etc.
  • Experience in one or more network related hardware and software.
