Summary: Department based internship. Incumbent receives academic credit in accordance with school and internship guidelines. Internship provides hands-on learning experience. Students involved in this project will be exposed to mouse brain sectioning, immunofluorescence staining, and confocal microscopy to study the brain pathology. They will also participate in behavioral studies examining the cognitive ability of the AD mice. During the training period, participants will learn basic and advanced immunologic techniques related to CNS inflammation and neurodegenerative diseases. Students will be involved in the analysis and interpretation of the data. Does this position require Patient Care? No Essential Functions: Internship duties are based on department requirements and school course of study. Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required Experience: No experience required, but students who have completed a Neuroscience/Immunology course would be preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Must be reliable and punctual. - Good time management skills. - Strong oral communication skills. - Ability to take and follow direction. - Willingness to learn.
