As a Staff Psychiatrist, you will oversee intensive psychiatric treatment of mentally ill patients by utilizing a multi-disciplinary approach for the psychiatric management of acute, chronic, and geriatric emotionally ill persons. You will perform competency evaluations, write orders for treatment and studies, make daily rounds, perform psychotherapy and counseling, and lead a team formulating treatment plans. This role requires effective communication to consult with disciplinary teams and patients, as well as a genuine desire to ensure individualized quality patient care. In addition, you will facilitate discharge planning and appropriate community follow-up, participate in hospital committees to enhance patient care, and ensure dignified and humane treatment of patients at all times.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.
• Overtime as needed

• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $216,862.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Completion of a residency or training program in psychiatry which meets the certification requirements of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.

Special Requirements:

• You must be in possession of a license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as issued by the State Board of Medical Education and Licensure, or the State Board of Osteopathic Examiners.

Other Requirements:

• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
  • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
