Summary

We are looking for our new US Head of Delivery to join our team. Lead the US Area Delivery team, providing efficient and high-quality outcomes for Carrier Haulage customers across Transported by Maersk activities, with full responsibility for the execution of Inland Carrier Haulage products within First Mile Activities (TbM).

Key Responsibilities

  • Build an engaged and high-performing team capable of collaborating in a matrix environment to achieve the desired results in terms of customers, costs, and standardization, in accordance with internal and local regulations.
  • Ensure that customers receive superior service across all Carrier Haulage products within the scope of TbM, in line with promises and commitments made to them.
  • Set the strategic direction for the team, working closely with Product and Centre teams.
  • Execute all managed shipment orders as planned by CX, coordinating with carriers and suppliers, and ensure end-to-end visibility from pickup to delivery through the TbM platform(s).
  • Ensure that the "cost to serve" is implemented and visible across all products within scope and support profitability validation.
  • Create and maintain a team with a strong focus on customer results and efficiency, with solid functional knowledge and experience.
  • Ensure that Area Delivery colleagues are equipped to operate in accordance with global standards and local regulations for Operational Excellence, and that proper processes and support tools are in place.
  • Create and maintain a cost leadership plan aligned with the area's overall business plan.
  • Develop a bottom-up continuous improvement mindset that identifies, designs, and adopts local improvement initiatives without compromising global standards.
  • Ensure that own and third-party operations are executed efficiently and aligned with cost and quality ambitions.
  • Manage the performance of products within scope and ensure that goals and targets are met.

Accountabilities

  • Ability to manage, train, and motivate teams toward a shared vision with clear goals.
  • Ability to operate successfully in a complex environment with multiple internal and external stakeholders at various levels.
  • Ability to build a strong integrator narrative, supporting the journey to create seamless cargo management solutions across all modes of transport.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders, both internal and external, to achieve our commercial objectives.
  • Overall Inland Delivery outcomes in the US and partly Canada.
  • Ensure Inland Delivery capabilities are in place.
  • All Safety, Quality & Cost outcomes within Inland Ops.
  • Drive standardization initiatives within Inland and provide input on gaps in platforms, processes, automation, etc.
  • Create, implement, maintain Inland business continuity plans.
  • Cost initiatives, annual budgets, RoFO.
  • Procurement of fixed/committed capacity.
  • Changes to network design, new process creations and changes to existing processes.
  • Customs and regulatory policies that could impact customers, vendors and on organization.
  • Business & Product development agenda for Inland products.
  • Value proposition, customer insights and market intel.

Required experience & skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Advanced or Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred
  • 10+ years of logistics / supply chain experience & 5+ years in managing large scale operations
  • Good knowledge of logistics industry and inland transportation/operations

Travel

Travel (domestic & international) is expected for 20% of time.

Pay Range:

$240,000- $255,000

*The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
