Location: Colorado Springs, CO (United States Air Force Acacemy)

Type: Exempt

Work Schedule: Full Time, Day Shift

Compensation: $110,000 - $125,000 Annually, dependent on experience

Tessera is seeking a qualified Assistant Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to support our Facilities Maintenance Manager at USAFA. This role is essential to maintaining operational excellence across a variety of facility types, including cadet dormitories, academic buildings, and base infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical knowledge, and a commitment to safety and service.

Productivity, workplace safety, customer satisfaction, and the team's success is dependent on the leadership team position's efforts. Typical duties include but are not limited to:

Core Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Develop a strong understanding of AbilityOne and SourceAmerica programs.
  • Uphold and embody Tessera's core values.
  • Align team goals with Tessera's value proposition, ensuring highly engaged employees contribute to customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and mitigate safety hazards on job sites through effective risk controls and utilize Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA).
  • Conduct root cause analyses to promote a safe working environment and maintain adherence to Tessera's Accident Reporting process.
  • Foster positive client interactions using effective interpersonal skills, demonstrating respect, empathy, and responsiveness.

Essential Duties:

  • Assist in supervising Appliance Mechanics, General Maintenance Workers, Locksmiths, Painters, and other assigned personnel
  • Support planning, assigning, and monitoring of workloads; help train and evaluate staff performance
  • Oversee maintenance and repair activities across multiple facility types
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, safety protocols, and USAFA operational standards
  • Respond to customer inquiries and complaints professionally; maintain strong relationships with base personnel and contracting officers
  • Assist in data collection and performance tracking using Maximo or similar CMMS platforms
  • Coordinate procurement and inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies
  • Conduct inspections and support quality assurance and control efforts
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve service issues and implement corrective actions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related maintenance field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years in facilities maintenance or work control, with supervisory experience in a multi-trade environment.
  • Proficiency in Maximo or other CMMS platforms
  • Strong understanding of shop operations and building systems
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and conflict resolution skills
  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Physical Requirements:

  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Common Access Card (CAC) for this position.
  • A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance.
