Post-Doctoral Associate, Dr. Peter Kang

We invite applications for a postdoctoral researcher to support ongoing research on aquifer recharge and multiphase flow in porous media.

80% - Applying numerical and analytical infiltration models to quantify groundwater recharge potential under varying hydrogeologic conditions. In parallel, the researcher will conduct microfluidics experiments to investigate the coupling between biogeochemical processes and multiphase flow, with the goal of improving mechanistic understanding of subsurface water and solute dynamics.

20% - Contribute to the life of the laboratory, collaborating with other researchers. The position offers opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration at the interface of hydrology, biogeochemistry, and porous media physics.

Qualifications:
PhD in Civil & Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, Geosciences, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:
Strong background in laboratory experimentation (microfluidics, reactive transport, or related).
Background in numerical modeling of infiltration is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills and ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.

Pay Range: $61,008-$63,000; depending on education/qualifications/experience
