We are seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician to join our external client, a renowned medical center in Garden City, NY. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retina practices.
Requirements:
* Minimum of five (5) years of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician in a retina practice (preferred).
* Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) from a JCAHPO-accredited program is preferred, or actively working towards certification.
Schedule:
* Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Responsibilities:
* Conduct tests and measurements to assess eye function and assist Ophthalmologists in diagnosing and treating eye disorders and diseases.
* Evaluate patients' far acuity, near acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception, and color perception.
* Examine the eye using a slit lamp to identify abnormalities in the cornea and anterior/posterior chambers.
* Administer drops for anesthesia, dilation, or medication of the eyes.
* Measure intraocular pressure (glaucoma test).
* Assess patients' field of vision (central and peripheral) for defects and record results accurately.
* Measure the axial length of the eye using ultrasound equipment.
* Perform additional tests and measurements as requested by the physician.
