Job Description:

The role of the Field Service Technician (internally called Maintenance Technician) will be a critical part of the Maintenance Department, reporting to the Director of Field Maintenance In this role you will be responsible for helping to maintain 100+ gasoline locations along with a team of technicians. There will be on-call rotations with this position. This is a field-based position where you are working with station dealers and managers on a regular basis. You will be responsible for maintaining Passport and VeriFone POS systems as well as dispensers. This is a field-based position and we will provide a company-issued work truck for this role, the territory will be central/northern MA.

"Gauges" of Responsibility

  • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions in the field.
  • Respond promptly to service requests and emergency calls.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and departments to coordinate repairs and upgrades.
  • Travel to various job sites across New England as needed.
  • Maintain and upgrade Dispensers and POS systems in 100+ sites across New England.
  • Perform onsite maintenance of UST equipment and alarms as needed.
  • Daily travel with occasional overnights.

Qualifications

  • Vocational or Technical Education preferred.
  • Experience working in the petroleum industry a plus.
  • Preferred knowledge of Fuel Dispensers and Point of Sale systems is a plus.
  • You manage and take ownership of your work with limited supervision.
  • You consistently meet deadlines and are results-oriented.
  • Willing to learn and become certified on different POS systems and components.
  • Occasional light handy man work as needed may be requested.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office, Word, Windows, IT capability is a plus.
  • Experience in retail petroleum industry is a plus.
