Job Overview:

The Microsoft Administrator II supports the PATRIOT missile system test and evaluation mission by managing and maintaining secure Microsoft environments within the Air and Missile Defense Branch Computer Enclave (AMDBCE). This position ensures availability, security, and compliance of all classified and unclassified network systems that enable T&E operations, data processing, and mission execution for the Warfighter Analysis and Missile Flight Activity (WSM-FA).

Support Hours: Applicant shall be available during core work hours as established the Government customer.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Administer, monitor, and maintain Microsoft Windows and Windows Server operating systems across ~80 classified and unclassified systems in the AMDBCE network environment.
  • Implement and maintain Active Directory (AD), Group Policy Objects (GPOs), and Microsoft enterprise services (Exchange, O365, Teams, SharePoint) supporting secure test operations and WAO deliverables.
  • Apply DoD cybersecurity baselines, RMF controls, and STIG remediation to servers, workstations, firewalls, and network devices; document compliance results for inspection by the AMDBCE ISSO.
  • Manage network configurations for firewalls, switches, Linux compliance servers, and TACLANE NSA encryption devices.
  • Perform system backups, patch management, and license tracking; maintain and submit ADP logs and configuration reports.
  • Support classified data management and media handling (encryption, courier prep, archiving) IAW SOP 380-190.
  • Coordinate with Government engineers and analysts to install data reduction tools and sustain test computing infrastructure.
  • Provide first-echelon maintenance and troubleshooting for analysts and engineers operating in classified environments.
  • Maintain AMDBCE SOPs, system documentation, and user guides; submit updates for Government review.
  • Support Special Access Program (SAP) data processing and LAN configuration; ensure secure handling of SAP products.
  • Recommend hardware/software improvements to optimize cost, performance, and security.
  • Serve as classified courier when required; transport classified packages per DA Form 3964 procedures.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements/Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT or related discipline; or 3+ years of enterprise Microsoft administration in DoD environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows/Server, AD, GPO, Exchange/O365, Linux Red Hat, and networking (firewalls, TACLANEs, switches).
  • CompTIA Security+ (IAT Level II) and Microsoft certification (MCSE, MCSA, or Azure Administrator).
  • Knowledge of RMF process, STIG compliance, secure network configuration, classified data handling, DoD/Army IA policy.
  • Capable of moving ADP equipment and working in secure vault conditions.
  • Ability to maintain classified courier credentials and valid driver's license.
  • Ability to comply with all security procedures for vaults and data handling IAW AR 25-2 and AR 380-5.

Security Requirement:

  • Active Top Secret with Special Access Required (SAR) eligibility.
