We are looking for a Planning Project Manager who will help foster our mission that All People Should Live in Safe, Sustainable and Beautiful Communities! You will join our well-established Planning and Urban Design team, managing project delivery, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, ensuring client satisfaction through strategic planning and execution, and actively engaging in business development activities to grow client relationships. Planning projects will vary, with emphasis on land use and zoning, ordinance development, comprehensive plans, small area and master plans, transportation, parks and trails or environmental review.

What You Will Be Doing:


  • Lead the planning, execution, and performance of multiple planning projects
  • Prepare scopes of services, budget estimates, and support contract negotiations
  • Serve as the primary client contact, ensuring expectations are met and relationships are maintained
  • Coordinate with internal teams and subconsultants to deliver high-quality project outcomes
  • Supervise staff assignments, review deliverables, and implement quality assurance practices
  • Mentor and develop team members through coaching, performance reviews, and professional growth opportunities
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement, public outreach, and consensus-building processes
  • Lead presentations and meetings with clients, public officials, and project partners
  • Support business development efforts including RFP evaluation, proposal preparation, and strategic planning


What We Are Looking For:


  • Bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited college or university in urban and regional planning, public policy, or closely related field
  • 10 years of progressive planning and management experience
  • Certification by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) or affiliate organization is strongly preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of planning methods, applications and related software
  • Knowlege and skills in project management software, such as MS Project and Primavera
  • Experience implementing methods and techniques for agency and stakeholder involvement, effective technical reporting and presentations
  • Experience researching methods and statistical principles related to urban growth and development
  • Strong skills in client needs assessment, meeting quality standards for service and evaluation of client satisfaction
