HealthPartners is currently hiring a Supervisor, Web & Mobile - Care Directory Team. The supervisor leads a high-impact team driving innovation in patient scheduling technology. This role oversees a group of seven professionals-including developers, quality engineers, a BI analyst, and an intern-who are responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web and mobile applications that support both front-end interfaces and back-end services. Reporting to the Manager of IT Web & Mobile Development, the Supervisor plays a pivotal role in aligning software development efforts with HealthPartners' strategic goals. The position focuses on delivering resilient, high-performing systems while championing modernization, observability, and performance across the technology stack. - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and training
- Eight (8) years of hands-on experience in web development, specializing in the design, development, and maintenance of both web and mobile applications. Proven expertise in Java and modern scripting frameworks such as React, Nuxt, and Vue.
- Three (3) years of project leadership experience, with strong project management skills and hands-on involvement in Scrum team environments.
- Demonstrated experience in training and mentoring staff, including technical teams.
- Comprehensive understanding of hardware configurations and related technologies, along with in-depth knowledge of current applications.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven supervisory and managerial experience leading technology teams.
- Three (3) years of health insurance industry experience
- Experience with software development tools such as GitHub, OpenShift, Tekton, Argo, and Jira.
- Agile methodology experience, especially Scrum
- DevOps knowledge
- Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery build pipelines
- Quality Engineering principles, automation, TDD, BDD
Hours/Location:
- Monday - Friday; core business hours
- Expectation of on-call availability for the applications under team's ownership.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to lead, support and motivate a technical team to deliver high-quality, timely projects.
- Guide problem solving efforts as needed and resolve escalated issues.
- Supervise workflows and ensure an environment of quality and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with management on organizational goals, resource allocation and support strategic decision making.
- Collaborate with product owners and business analysts to manage priorities, timelines, technical needs and resources.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and training requirements.
- Monitor performance and provide feedback.
- Champion technology decisions that build solid foundation for future growth, resiliency, observability, self-recovery, scalability, and flexibility.
- Participates in technical development and installation; providing oversight where needed.
- Supervise project progress and provide help as necessary to meet project deadlines.
- Coordinate activities of the team, including after-hours support as needed to ensure 24x7 availability of systems.
- Coordinate with IS&T Technical Infrastructure Services, Compliance and Security Administration to ensure system quality, integrity, controllability, recoverability and security.
- Develop team capabilities and support professional development by creating opportunities for skill and knowledge growth,
- Keeps staff informed of decisions, actions and issues involving or affecting them.
- Completes annual performance reviews in a timely manner, addresses disciplinary problems, and resolves conflict.
- Recommends promotions, transfers, terminations and salary actions.
