Responsibilities

As a Software Application Engineer in the Aerospace & Defense Custom Solutions Group you will work with a team of system, mechanical and project engineers to develop custom test system solutions that test our customer's unique products. You will be responsible for developing the software, firmware - using a broad array of tools to solve the customer's test challenges. This will involve understanding the customer's problem, mapping out the requirements, architecting the solution, developing the solution, delivering the solution and training the customer on the operation of the solution as well as providing support to keep the solution operational.

This position requires access to certain goods, software, technology, or technical data subject to U.S. export control laws and regulations. Under these laws and regulations, U.S. persons (which includes U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees) working for Keysight can access export-controlled items without authorization from the U.S. government. For any individual who is not a U.S. person, Keysight may need authorization from the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Commerce, or other appropriate federal agency before the individual can access export-controlled items. Employment in this position for non-U.S. persons is contingent on Keysight's ability to obtain any required government authorizations.


Qualifications

Education:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Ideally finishing sophomore year

Technical Skills & Interests:

  • Demonstrated interest in software development through coursework, personal projects, or prior internship experience
  • Foundational understanding of software architecture and hardware control via software drivers
  • Exposure to object-oriented programming concepts and software design principles
  • Passion for learning about RF and radar technologies in the Aerospace and Defense industry

Soft Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective problem-solving and collaboration abilities
  • Ability to present ideas clearly and work well in team environments

Additional Requirements:

  • Must meet the U.S. person requirement or be eligible to obtain necessary government authorizations
  • Willingness and ability to pursue a security clearance if required by project or customer needs

Based on experience, education and skills, most offers will be between the minimum and the midpoint of the Salary Range listed above.
