Primary Purpose: Under the direction of an attorney carry out specialized legal research and writing assignments. Duties and Responsibilities: * Conducts legal research on assigned points of procedural and substantive law. * Prepares preliminary drafts or briefs, arguments, contracts, affidavits, and various legal documents as directed; maintains related document files and legal correspondence. * Conducts studies, interview witnesses, and prepare witnesses to testify. * When accepted as a member of the California Bar, represent the Company before courts, commissioners, boards, hearing officers, and public agencies under the guidance and supervision of an experienced attorney. * Uses computerized databases in the execution of legal research assignments. * Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties). |
