What you'll do:



  • Assist with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Infection Prevention program within The Johns Hopkins Hospital and its affiliated areas to meet the institutions goals.
  • Continuously evaluate policies, procedures, and practices relating to infection prevention and control within the institution to ensure all evidence- based infection prevention practices are implemented to assure optimum protection for all patients, visitors, and staff.

    • This includes conducting surveillance, providing education, leading performance improvement initiatives and managing outbreaks and exposures, emergency preparedness, exerting influence to effect change, supporting the antimicrobial stewardship program with the assistance of the HEIC team.


  • Develop and utilize knowledge of epidemiology, infectious diseases, modes of disease transmission, principles of infection control and prevention, performance improvement and adult learning methods.



What you'll bring:



  • 2+ years' related work experience in Infection Control, Nursing, Microbiology, Epidemiology, Health Education, or Public Health preferred. Master's degree in Public Health may substitute for experience.
  • Fundamental knowledge of infection prevention and control, epidemiology, microbiology, and/or clinical practice related to infection prevention
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Nursing, Microbiology, Epidemiology, Public Health or a related discipline)



***** Depending on the level of experience, we will consider applicants for ICE level II or III.

Salary Range: Minimum /hour - Maximum /hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
