Responsibilities

Sabre Systems is hiring for a Critical Item Management Information Systems Analyst who will support the analysis, management, and provide reports and metrics concerning Naval aviation critical parts in the Joint Deficiency Reporting System - Critical Item Management (JDRS-CIM) database.

NAVAIR's Critical Item Management (CIM) is the process of identifying and managing parts critical to aviation safety, ensuring only approved parts are used, and preventing their failure or misuse to avoid catastrophic events, injuries, or fatalities. This management is guided by DoD and Navy regulations and implements a life-cycle approach that includes establishing item criticality, approving sources of supply and repair, and tracking critical items throughout their use in Navy and Marine Corps aviation systems.

A Critical Safety Item (CSI) is defined by its potential to cause a catastrophic or critical failure resulting in loss or serious damage to an aircraft or weapons systems, an unacceptable risk of personal injury or loss of life, or an uncommanded engine shutdown. The Critical Item Management (CIM) Team is responsible for managing Critical Safety Item data in the Joint Deficiency Reporting System (JDRS)-CIM information system which is used by NAVAIR, Navy Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP), Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Defense Contracts Management Agency (DCMA), and the other services to identify naval aviation Critical Safety Items (CSIs), approved manufacturers, and critical characteristics.

Such activities include, but not limited to:

  • Collects, cleans, and transforms large data sets from various sources to ensure data accuracy and integrity of the information in JDRS-CIM.
  • Performs data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and correlations to develop reports and visual dashboards of findings.
  • Monitors and evaluates data quality to identify gaps or inconsistencies, taking necessary steps for data refinement.
  • Provides end-user support to resolve problems related to the use of JDRS-CIM.
  • The analyst performs standard and specialized queries, develops and provides reports with analysis and recommendations, develops metrics, and proposes Software Change Requests (SCRs).
  • The analyst collaborates with the software development company to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software-related problems. In doing this, the analyst supports the implementation of software changes and performs User Acceptance Testing.
  • The analyst documents and tracks support requests, ensuring accurate and detailed records of issues and resolutions.
  • The analyst creates and maintains technical documentation, including user manuals, troubleshooting guides, frequently asked questions, and video training.
  • The analyst develops training materials and trains users in the software. In performing the functions, the analyst will interface with other automated information systems managed by various DoD organizations.
  • Research information systems such as Product Data Reporting and Evaluation Program (PDREP), ASSIST Quick Search, Web Federal Logistics Information System (WebFLIS), and Aviation Product LifeCycle Management (AvPLM) to obtain needed data.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Education: Must have a Technical or Scientific AS or AA degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum years of experience: 0-3 years minimum recent and relevant experience required.
  • Key Skills:
    • The analyst should possess a strong background in Excel, SQL (Structured Query Language), and proficiency developing and executing SQL queries in relational databases (e.g Oracle, TOAD, SQL Server).
    • Experience working with analytical tools such as Business Objects, Qlik, Tableau, or Power BI is beneficial.
    • Experience with military engineering technical data or logistics management data would be highly beneficial.
  • Must have or be able to obtain an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Compensation:

At Sabre Systems, LLC, compensation is based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements. The general salary range for this position is $90000-$113000.00; however, final compensation will be determined by individual qualifications and applicable contract terms
