Primary Duties / Responsibilities:



  • Provide support to the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) team by actively contributing to the advancement of the Safety Management System (SMS). Collaborate with SMS element champions to drive continuous improvement across all safety elements. Proactively identify ergonomic risks and implement solutions to minimize physical strain, including the design or modification of workstations, tools, and work methods to eliminate excessive exertion, awkward postures, and repetitive motions.
  • Lead the initiative to minimize waste (shrink) in the production process through data analysis, hands-on investigations, Lean Manufacturing tools, SPC, etc. Work with a cross functional team (manufacturing, distribution, financial, and supervision/management) to drive waste down through process improvements, resources, or Bill-of-Material (BOM) corrections.
  • Support the integration of new and revised R&D formulations into the manufacturing process by managing the transition through a centralized master tracking file in Excel. Enhance the timeliness and accuracy of work instructions for both new and existing manufactured products to ensure consistent and efficient production.
  • Apply the 5S methodology to systematically organize workspaces by eliminating waste, enhancing workflow, and streamlining processes where feasible. Use 5S principles to improve the efficiency of sanitary parts storage. Additionally, develop and maintain a master Excel spreadsheet for critical parts ordering that aligns with the parts inventory system.
  • Conduct method studies on existing job processes to identify opportunities for improvement through the development of new or modified procedures. The objective is to enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness by optimizing resource utilization. Analytical techniques such as surveys, data collection, time studies, and process or operation analysis may be utilized to support these evaluations. The development or revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) will be required to effectively support and enhance the training process.


The qualified candidate will be a junior or senior in the fall of 2026 with a degree focus in Industrial engineering.
