Position Summary

As a Welder you will be responsible for performing high mix / low volume manual TIG welding of stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminum within a high-quality medical device manufacturing environment.



Shift Hours: 3:00pm-1:30am Monday-Thursday

What You'll do as a Welder

  • Set up and operate welding equipment using prescribed methods and procedures to weld parts with acceptable tolerances and standards.
  • Build weldments through manual layout and manual surface prep processes when required.
  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, including standard welding symbols, travelers, and other work instruction documents.
  • Position parts to be joined using fixtures and other holding or positioning devices.
  • Use required measuring instruments and gages to check and ensure parts meet dimensional requirements.
  • Assist in problem-solving activities.
  • Capable of mentoring/ training Associate Welder & Welder I
  • Capable of fitting, purging, and welding complete joint penetration (CJP) welds
  • Ability to troubleshoot welding equipment and materials and fixturing.
  • Capable of performing visual welding inspection.
  • Ability to interpret AWS standards and welding symbols.
  • Ability to produce all product lines within the designated area.
  • Assist the Senior Welder with a review of all standard work within the designated area.
  • Capable of mentoring/training Welder II

The Experience, Skills and Abilities

Required:



  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3-5 years of welding experience required.
  • 2 years of experience working in a solid metal fabrication/machining environment
  • Must be able to use prescribed manual processes in TIG welding of stainless, mild steel, and aluminum.
  • Must be able to use precision measuring instruments and gages.



Preferred:



  • Welding experience in flux core, MIG, stick, carbon steel, preferred.
  • Certification in GTAW (TIG) preferred.



Other:



  • Must have strong math and troubleshooting proficiency and basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to read and interpret welding blueprints, including all standard welding symbols.

Pay range for this opportunity is$20.43-$26.44.This position is eligible forbonus participation.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
