The goal was to create, introduce, and foster a school culture that we both desire and deserve. By embracing these Cultural Principles, we aim to build an inclusive, supportive, and innovative environment that empowers everyone in our community to thrive and achieve their fullest potential (https://www.bio.uci.edu/about/biosci-cultural-principles/). UCI is an HSI, an AANAPISI, and a charter member of the AAAS SEA Change initiative that supports institutional efforts to increase access and success for students, faculty and staff from groups in STEMM (https://www.aaas.org/news/four-new-charter-members-join-sea-change).
