General Summary
This position is responsible for maintaining Stockroom inventory and providing staff support and service.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Facilitate the shipping and receiving process. Including daily deliveries and mail runs, following GLP, Safety and SOP training.
- Receive and accompany gas deliveries and special gas shipments.
- Stock and issue supplies from inventory.
- Reconcile stockroom inventory and remote inventory at months' end.
- Maintain / monitor inventory of stored chemicals.
- Understand how data entry into CostPoint impacts the accuracy of data across the shipping, receiving, storeroom, Procurement, and Accounts Payable functions.
- Utilize CostPoint to process documentation associated with shipping and receiving items.
- Audit data entry to ensure accuracy of entries made.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of stockroom.
- Monitor the customer requests and appropriately issue supplies to staff.
- Receive, check in, stock and issue items.
- Perform cycle counts and periodic inventories.
- Submit / follow progress of claims, backorders, and shortages.
- Assist with the pick-up and delivery of facility mail.
- Assist Southern Research staff with shipping needs.
- Ensure all safety regulations on chemicals and solvents are followed and work alongside Safety Team.
- Order compressed gasses and dry ice.
- May perform other duties as requested by supervisor.
- Understand regulatory requirements applicable to the function ie., ISO, ITAR.
Requirements/Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Three (3) years of related stockroom shipping/receiving experience.
- Uses judgment within defined practices and procedures.
- Experience utilizing an ERP System.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.
- Ability to acquire security clearance, if required
- Experience successfully passing Client audits, including BARDA, USDA, FDA, etc.
- Ability to obtain IATA and DOT certifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor's degree.
- Familiarity with Costpoint
- Familiarity with OnBase requisition system.
- Hazardous Materials Certification
- IATA and DOT certifications

Physical Demands/Work Environment & Conditions
- This position is required to work in an office setting using a computer for extended periods of time.
- Lifting (+/- 50 lbs.) is required.
- Ability to walk for considerable distances in performing the work.
- Ability to lift objects frequently in performing the work.
- Ability to pull or push objects on a regular basis.
- Ability to carry objects on a regular basis in the arms or on the shoulders.
- Ability to grasp objects utilizing the fingers (fine motor manipulation).
