Job Overview

The Machine Operator III is an advanced-level position in a manufacturing environment, responsible for operating and maintaining complex machinery with a high degree of independence and expertise. This role involves setting up, programming, and troubleshooting advanced equipment, ensuring that production processes are efficient and that all products meet strict quality standards. The Machine Operator III is expected to lead by example, often assisting with training less experienced operators and optimizing machine performance.

Key Responsibilities

Set up, program, and operate complex machinery, including CNC machines and other automated systems, to produce high-precision parts and components. Perform detailed setup and calibration of machines, selecting the appropriate tools, and adjusting settings for different production runs. Diagnose and resolve complex issues with machinery, performing advanced maintenance and coordinating with maintenance teams for repairs. Inspect products throughout the production process to ensure they meet precise specifications and quality standards, making necessary adjustments to maintain consistency. Identify and implement improvements to increase machine efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall production processes. Extensive experience and proficiency in operating and programming advanced machinery, with a strong understanding of CNC programming and automated systems. Exceptional attention to detail to ensure all products meet tight tolerances and high-quality standards. Must be cross-trained and able to support all Operator I, II & III roles.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of experience in operating machinery in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to use and accurately read measuring devices (tape measures).
  • Ability to use hand tools (hammer, wrench, level, etc.).
  • Ability to follow blueprints.
  • Thermal area: Ability to run all thermal equipment in P&D and Strut.
  • Ability to read and interpret Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ability to use a computer with basic proficiency (data entry).
