This position is responsible for overseeing a team of Sourcing Coordinators as they facilitate orders and movements of raw materials for the manufacturing of Polymer and Outside Buys, and for helping build and maintain reporting systems to provide additional visibility into these operations. This team supports all selling divisions-including Paint Stores Group, Consumer Brands, and Performance Coatings Group.

Business Unit Responsibilities

  • Oversee team members to optimize workflow, practices and procedures
  • Manage processes for ordering and receiving raw materials to ensure objectives are met for the department, including:
    • Order alignment with forecast
    • Order tracking
    • On-time delivery of materials
    • Inbound and outbound raw material pricing process (supplier pricing and bill toller pricing calculations) and system maintenance.
  • Support group-wide initiative to update data workflows and reporting structures related to purchase history, supplier and plant detail, open orders, pricing, and forecasting.
  • Proactively monitor and report on ordering patterns for raw materials from polymer manufacturing sites, calling out trends and issues that arise within polymer manufacturing network.
  • Utilize and maintain monomer balance tool, and work with tollers to ensure that orders are within acceptable range of forecast. Report out to management and escalate as necessary.
  • Work effectively with other managers and supervisors to create maximum synergy, coordination, and cooperation across the Procurement organization and cross-functional working teams.
  • Participate in and/or lead departmental projects as assigned by management including but not limited to bulk-tank storage analysis, managing safety stock levels, IT initiatives, etc.
  • Support and promote all company and department service and quality initiatives.
  • Accountable for team's performance and contribution to goals established by Sourcing leadership.
  • Participate in and/or lead departmental projects as assigned by Procurement Platforms Team including but not limited to workflow design and implementation to make more efficient sourcing decisions.

Building a High-Performance Team

  • Create, assign and track individual, team and department goals to maximize performance levels.
  • Develop and enhance employee effectiveness by providingon-going guidance, mentoring, feedback, and motivation to staff to ensure competent performance and succession planning while adhering to department and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Provide training opportunities to direct reports that are aligned to business needs while enabling employees to reach their potential and explore business interests.
  • Post positions, review resumes, interview and hire quality candidates through thoughtful and thorough processes.
  • Ensure consistent and continuous business coverage through scheduling, work volume monitoring and statistical analysis of business trends. Cross-train employees and establish SOP's for coverage while employees are out.
  • Align team's individual strengths with department and business needs.
  • Analyze workload for employees and implement changes as necessary to ensure responsibilities are well balanced.

Business Leadership and Problem resolution

  • Build, encourage and maintain strong partnerships with internal and external channels to enable timely problem resolution.
  • Maintain an active presence with the team to provide timely positive feedback to staff and assist employees as needed to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Prepare and deliver communication to ensure teams are fully informed of all new information related to sourcing of materials, procedures, toller needs and supplier changes.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future (e.g., OPT, CPT, H1B, EB-1,etc.)
  • Must have a Bachelor's or higher degree
  • Must have systems and applications experience including Microsoft Office Suite and Oracle / SAP ERP software
  • Must have at least three (3) years experience in Sourcing, Customer Service, Supply Chain, Accounting, Business, Finance, or Technical

Preferred Qualification:

  • Have at least one (1) year of experience in leadership role(s), supervising other, or leading teams
  • Have advanced working experience in Excel (queries, macros, pivot tables, etc.), Tableau, & Power BI and Power Automate
  • Have at least five (5) years of working experience in Sourcing, Customer Service, Supply Chain, Accounting, Business, Finance, or Technical
