About the Role:
This is for a Summer 2026 Internship located at our facility in Sterling Heights, Michigan.

The General Dynamics Land Systems Internship Program provides an opportunity for students looking to start or continue the transition from academia into industry. Our internship assignments provide compensation based on area of study and class standing, and have the students embedded in key functional areas of our business, getting real-world experience and mentorship from seasoned professionals.

The Engineering Software Intern will focus on integration support for vehicle electronic systems. The intern should be a highly motivated Software Engineer to support our vehicle infrastructure OS/BSP team.
This role will specialize in ground vehicle combat weapons computer system/software abstraction layer development, including:

Planning, specification development, Coding and testing moderately complex software control/display/dsp programs. Assisting in other engineering activities such as integration testing, algorithm & data analysis and software troubleshooting.

Qualifications Sought
  • Must be pursuing a bachelor's degreein eitherElectrical or Computer Science Engineering; other technical degrees will be considered with relevant experiencefrom an accredited 4-year university or college.
  • Must have experience with C, C++ programming language.
  • Must have attained at least a Junior status based on university/college's class standing requirements at the start of the internship.
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Preferred - GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • This position may require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance)
  • No sponsorships offered
  • Must successfully pass standard pre-employment screens and must provide an official college or university transcript from their school before their first day of employment.
  • Ability to meet ASR requirements to work in/on various vehicles.
  • Must be able to complete a 3 month internship from May-Aug 2026
