As a Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate resolution of complex Payroll issues impacting team members. This role is responsible for ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. This role includes cross-checking payroll staff, coordinating with other departments, and continuously improving payroll processes. This role will provide support to the Senior Payroll Director.

The combination of technical know-how, interpersonal communication, a strong sense of initiative, and a drive to get the job done well will be critical to success.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee full-cycle payroll processing for the Americas (US, Canada, Chile) population, including both hourly and salaried staff.
  • Coordinate the on cycle/off cycle process and daily review of outstanding errors and integration errors between Workday and ADP.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll, including salaries, benefits, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Reconcile/Audits payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
  • Ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
  • Conduct quarterly audits of the employee taxable wages and benefit deductions.
  • Stays current on Federal, state and local laws influencing payroll matters.
  • Review and resolve payroll discrepancies and/or employee questions timely and accurately.
  • Prepare and file necessary payroll-related tax filings.
  • Develop and document payroll policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service through timely resolution of escalated issues.
  • Assist with research and resolution of complex payroll related matters.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality for all payroll-related items.
  • Support the Senior Payroll Director in managing multiple project deliverables on time.
  • Completes ad hoc projects and other duties assigned by leadership.
  • Manage the setup and maintenance of multi-state tax registrations to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Manage and process the Multi-State Withholding reclasses for employees that travelled to a non-resident state

Qualifications Required

  • 10 + years of recent, steady payroll processing experience in a professional, corporate environment of 2500+ employees both exempt and non-exempt.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and industry experience
  • Experience with ADP Vantage U.S. payroll processing required.
  • Experience with Workday HCM
  • Solid knowledge in MS Windows Applications: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint
  • Must be willing to work in a hybrid setting with 3-4 days per week in the office.

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Microsoft Excel skills: VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables,
  • Ability to work in a highly structured team environment.
  • Ability to maintain strict adherence to outlined procedures.
  • Ability to have a flexible work schedule due to work volume fluctuations.
