Intern - Financial Accounting Services (FAS)

Your education is just the beginning - you'll become an active member of our Financial Shared Services team located in Pittsburgh, PA. During our 12-week internship program, you'll tackle real-world challenges through impactful assignments, and work alongside our industry changemakers.

The Intern will utilize our ERP system, Excel, and various other tools to perform work relating to our Financial Account function while also gain exposure to the Customer Lending and Collections including live B2B interactions with our customers and commercial teams.

A Day in the Life at Howmet...

In addition to impact project work, you'll have the opportunity to:

• Participate in our month-end close processes which also includes:
  • B/S and P/L reconciliations and financial statement analysis
  • Reviews with locations
  • An ad hoc project
• Gain exposure to lease accounting which includes:
  • Applying our SOP's to specific leasing situations
  • Reconciliations and buyout
  • Fielding ad hoc requests from our sites
• Be involved with customer facing processes which involve:
  • Contacting customers to follow on the payment status of invoices (both in advance and when overdue)
  • Document payment commitments and follow-ups
  • Escalate stuck items as appropriate
  • Make recommendations on whether held orders should be released.
  • Evaluate the creditworthiness of new or existing customers
• Participate in internal control testing to ensure credit processes in good control.

Your Education, Skills, and Experience:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics with an expected graduation date in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or equivalent
• Demonstrated internship, work, research, or extracurricular participation
• Involved with at least 1 extracurricular activity
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Interns must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
