CNC Mill Setup Operator

BRIEF DESCRIPTION

The machine setup operator/programmer will setup, program, and, if needed, run CNC milling equipment to produce parts and components.

* Setup and program CNC mills; Mazak VTC, Mazak HMC, WIA (Mazatrol and G-Code)

* Work with Engineering on fixture design and implementation

* Carry out machine operation, production, inspection, and packaging duties as needed

* Identify and implement continuous improvements of processes and machine/setup times

* Read and fill out necessary paperwork, quality documents, travelers, and time sheets

* Assist engineering and quality technicians and obtain information as necessary

* Maintain a safe and clean work space

JOB SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

* Experience in CNC mill programming and setups, 5+ years

* Mazatrol experience preferred

* Expert GD&T and blueprint reading skills

* Experience with the use of basic machine measurement tools to verify setups; micrometers, snap gages, bore gages

* Good math skills

* Requires mechanical aptitude, conceptual skills, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn

* Able to lift a maximum of 50 pounds and stand for an eight-hour work shift
