Mailroom Clerk - Morristown, NJ

What this job involves

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our mail services team in Morristown, NJ! Our team is responsible for managing comprehensive mail, package, and freight operations at a client's site. You'll be part of a collaborative team environment where we work safely together, sharing daily workloads to ensure seamless mail operations and exceptional service delivery.

What your day-to-day will look like

  • Mail & Package Operations: Pick up, sort, process, load, ship, receive, unload, and deliver mail, packages, and freight
  • Quality Control: Inspect incoming and outgoing items, reporting any defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisors
  • Equipment Operations: Utilize computers, handheld scanners, manual/electric pallet jacks, hand trucks, platform trucks, and motor vehicles to accomplish daily tasks
  • Transportation: Transport mail and packages between client sites and the US Post Office as assigned
  • Administrative Tasks: Create shipping labels, utilize work-order systems, and maintain accurate records
  • Facility Maintenance: Keep work areas, vehicles, tools, and equipment clean and orderly while following prescribed safety regulations
  • Warehouse Management: Maintain warehouse and dock areas, remove boxes and debris from building/storage areas
  • Package Distribution: Unload shipments from trucks and deliver packages to appropriate areas throughout the facility

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Ability to lift up to 90 lbs. frequently
  • Physical capability to bend, twist, kneel, and stoop regularly
  • Valid New Jersey driver's license
  • Strong teamwork skills with customer service orientation
  • Proficiency with computers and information system technologies
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in mail services, shipping/receiving, or warehouse operations
  • Experience with handheld scanning devices and inventory management systems
  • Knowledge of postal regulations and shipping procedures
  • Forklift or powered industrial truck certification

Location: Onsite

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 730am-4pm

Compensation: $18/hr.

Estimated compensation for this position:

18.00 - 18.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
