Network Health is seeking a Senior Data Governance Specialist to join the Enterprise Analytics team. The Senior Data Governance Specialist will be responsible for creating and supporting a reliable enterprise-wide framework and governance that provides quality information/data that is available and utilized by the entire organization.

This includes managing a data dictionary and managing data definition enhancements to the claims processing systems, coordinating business stakeholder refinements and enhancement, monitoring emerging industry and business needs relative to data/analytics needs and facilitating prioritization of enhancement lists. This person must work collaboratively with leaders and key business units to establish data governance guidelines and to provide data governance leadership.

This individual will be able to drive documentation and validation through their own efforts and coordinating the efforts of others with demonstrated ability to provide or gather subject matter expertise as needed.

Location: Candidates must reside in the state of Wisconsin for consideration. With our hybrid workplace model, this position is eligible to work 3 days a week at your home office (reliable internet is required), and 2 days a week at one of our offices in Menasha, WI or Brookfield, WI.

Hours: 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week, 8am-5pm Monday through Friday.

Job Responsibilities:



  • Works with Network Health leadership to resolve data governance issues
  • Demonstrate commitment and behavior aligned with the philosophy, mission, values and vision of Network Health
  • Convene working groups of data stewards to address critical data issues, identifying appropriate cross-departmental resources
  • Work with leadership to ensure a data steward of technical resource is assigned to resolving data issues
  • Appropriately apply all organizational, regulatory, procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies
  • Manage the approval process for data releases to ensure accuracy, and completeness
  • Design and maintain data dictionaries, and data glossaries to be used by all NH associates
  • Consult data stewards as subject matter experts for emerging business needs
  • Work with NH Corporate Training Department to develop data governance training programs, and material for NH associates
  • Validation and tracing data as issues or concerns arise
  • Strong abilities in tracing through databases and relational structures in a multilayered data warehouse
  • Participates in Network Health's change advisory board to review and access program and configuration changes for impact to data
  • Chairs and leads data governance committee meetings
  • Present findings and status of related projects to leadership in a clear manner
  • Become SME in systems and data sources flowing into data warehouse


Job Requirements:




  • Bachelor's degree in finance, mathematics, business, computer science, or related field



  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in data and structures, analysis of data accuracy, and report development-healthcare or healthcare industry specific preferred


  • Ability to work directly with leaders and subject matter experts to accurately derive and define reporting requirements, specifications, and design
  • Understanding of information technology concepts, systems, data quality principle and strategies
  • Strong competency in understanding data warehousing concepts and techniques
  • Understanding of commonly used health insurance data and business acumen
  • Ability to work at both a conceptual and detail level with strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Ability to analyze and formulate complex design alternatives and recommend appropriate solutions from both a business and technical perspective
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a working group comprised of peers, stakeholders, and others who are not in direct reporting roles
  • Demonstrated ability to work through documentation and analysis of entirely new sources of data flowing into the broader data warehouse structure
  • Ability to provide guidance and input on warehouse design as appropriate
  • Demonstrated ability to help bridge the gap between various business units, informational technology, and analytics areas relating to data warehouse and governance thereof
