Position Summary

We are currently seeking a C4I Systems Test Specialist II to focus on the rigorous testing and implementation of C4I systems across various military platforms. This role is critical for ensuring the operational integrity and effectiveness of C4I systems through comprehensive testing, troubleshooting, and compliance with DoD standards. The C4I Systems Test Specialist II will bring deep technical expertise in network and communication systems, particularly in the Aegis Weapon System Baseline 5, and possess a strong background in system configuration, security management, and problem resolution to support mission-critical operations. The C4I Systems Test Specialist II will be responsible for the assembly, integration, and operational maintenance of advanced naval combat systems, ensuring they meet rigorous defense standards and operational readiness.


Responsibilities


  • Manage the Aegis Weapon System deployment, ensuring effective operation within naval defense parameters and alignment with current tactical and technological requirements.
  • Supporting Aegis Weapon System interface validation, shore site installation, and system integration.
  • Assisting in-port and at-sea assessments for Combat System Ship Qualification Trials (CSSQT) and Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) Test and Evaluation (T&E) events.
  • Conducting system troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for Aegis components such as C&D, SPY, WCS, ADS, and legacy adjuncts.
  • Executing and analyzing system integration tests to ensure tactical and operational interoperability.
  • Design Tactical Data Link (TDL) architectures, plan and execute technical solutions, and resolve complex interoperability and connectivity issues affecting PEO C4I Systems.
  • Load, initialize, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot TDL systems and RF terminals, including Link-22, Link-16, and Link-11.
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot Tactical RF communication systems and Navy Programs of Record (PoR) communications systems.
  • Assemble, integrate, and install components of advanced shipboard emulation and combat systems, including Advanced Capability Builds (ACBs) and Shipboard Self Defense Systems (SSDS).
  • Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of DoD, military, and commercial hybrid systems/equipment.
  • Interpret and apply Interface Control Documents (ICDs), system drawings, and technical specifications for cable fabrication, power distribution, and component integration.
  • Interpret technical documentation to configure full shipboard emulation environments, from physical rack setup to logical system architecture.
  • Configure network service peripherals and ensure comprehensive system readiness for lab and operational test events.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network and system issues across combat systems, RF communications, and tactical networks to ensure operational continuity.
  • Conduct regular system maintenance to minimize downtime and uphold continuous availability across test and deployed systems.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory electronic test equipment including Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, and Oscilloscopes in compliance with NIWC Pacific standards.
  • Support system validation through precise measurement and diagnostics during lab-based and operational testing.
  • Manage Communications Security (COMSEC) Material System (CMS) activities in alignment with Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) requirements.
  • Ensure compliance and accountability of COMSEC handling during system operation and testing
  • Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications and Educational Requirements

Preferred:


  • Bachelors in related fields (i.e. networking, computer science, cyber security) preferred.


Experience


Required:


  • At least 6 years of Navy experience operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and testing Navy Combat Systems, Weapon Systems, Computer Networks, and/or Display Systems.
  • Experience in supporting AEGIS Combat Systems (ACS), including baselines 3.X, 4.X, 5.X, 9, and 10 Open Architecture Computing Environment (OACE), Command and Decision (C&D), SPY, Weapon Control System (WCS), Aegis Display System (ADS), Operational Readiness Test System (ORTS), and legacy adjunct systems.
  • Experience working with AEGIS Combat Systems in a shipboard environment, both in port and at sea, with specific knowledge of integration and testing processes.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • This position requires an existing U.S. Government DoD granted security clearance/eligibility at the final Secret level. Individuals must maintain the necessary security clearance/eligibility for continued employment. U.S. Citizenship is required.



Preferred:


  • Experience in the integration, installation, and configuration of ACS Legacy Baselines, Advanced Capability Baseline (ACB) variants, Technical Insertion (TI) variants, and Next-Generation systems such as Virtual Twin/Virtual Aegis Weapon Systems (VAWS).
  • Familiarity with Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) and related systems, including the Cooperative Engagement Transmission Processing Set (CETPS).
  • Hands-on experience with AEGIS training and simulation systems, including ACS Interface Simulator (ACSIS), Next Generation Simulator (NGS), Combat Systems Simulator Stimulator (CS3), and Single Stimulation Framework (SSF).
