The Role
Presidio is seeking a strategic and visionary leader to join our Release and Readiness Portfolio Team as Director, Portfolio Management. In this role, you will drive the development, evolution, and execution of key cloud and managed services portfolios, You will be responsible for defining the strategic rationale-the "Why"-behind our portfolio of services and offerings across all of these key recurring revenue sources.
This leader will assess global market opportunities, inform investment decisions, and align offerings with customer needs and long-term enterprise value. You will influence and guide the direction throughout the service development and strategy, and partner with the practices in the ongoing development of their portfolio. Focus will be on our multi-year and recurring revenue practices including Hyperscaler Cloud Platform Consumption, Managed Services, FinOps Services and Software and Hardware lifecycle Management practices.
This newly created position will join our Services Portfolio team and is pivotal to shaping the future of our services and solutions, ensuring our offerings are market-relevant, differentiated, and financially compelling.
Responsibilities include:
- Portfolio Management: Consult with practices throughout the lifecycle management of services - from concept to sunset - with a focus on customer impact, business value, and strategic alignment. Influence the ongoing evolution of a 12-18 mo. Roadmap of services / areas of capabilities and growth.
- Value Proposition & Differentiation: Collaborate with product marketing to position and clearly articulate the "why" behind each offering - the business problem it solves, the customer value it creates, and how it strengthens our competitive position.
- Investment Strategy: curate and prioritize portfolio investments in partnership with practices, finance, engineering, and delivery, ensuring return on investment, scalability, and innovation alignment.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Align with product, marketing, delivery, sales, and regional teams to operationalize offerings, drive adoption, and ensure strong go-to-market readiness ensuring GTM sales teams leverage portfolio assets
- Liaison with Engineering: Coordinate with Solutions Engineering to ensure new solutions and offerings are aligned with existing portfolio across base services, solutions and engineered services products.
- Performance & Optimization: Monitor and optimize portfolio health through business KPIs, profitability, customer outcomes, and usage metrics. Recommend rationalization or evolution as needed.
- Thought leadership: Provide thought leadership and strategic insights to senior leadership, influencing roadmap direction, innovation focus, and growth strategy.
- Deep expertise in product lifecycle management processes and related tools.
- Comprehensive understanding of partner ecosystems including Microsoft, Cisco, AWS, Google Cloud, and emerging technology vendors.
- Understanding of financial modeling and business case development for strategic initiatives. Ability to develop representative forecast and ROI expectations.
- Extensive knowledge of key managed IT Services areas including:
- Service Delivery Operations - Core service desk, incident management, and SLA maintenance
- Technology Infrastructure Management - Network monitoring, cloud services, cybersecurity, and system management
- Human Resources and Talent Management - Technical team development, certifications, and resource allocation
- Client Relationship Management - Account management, business reviews, and customer satisfaction
- Financial Operations, (FinOps); Cost Optimization Services - looking at optimization of cost/spend across product, licensing, capacity, cloud compute, services and support
- Fiscal Management and Pricing - Revenue recognition, cost control, and contract profitability
- Operational Excellence and Process Improvement - Automation, quality management, and efficiency optimization managed services, finops and software licensing / asset management services.
Required Skills and Professional Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in business Management, Economics or Computer Science, or related field Master's degree preferred and/or military experience.
- 10+ years of experience in services delivery, sales and portfolio management, or services strategy within technology consulting
- Proven ability to lead strategic initiatives and manage complex global service portfolios.
- Strong financial and analytical capabilities to drive investment decisions and measure business impact.
- Demonstrated ability to translate market insights into actionable business strategies and services and solutions
- Experience with Hyper-Scalers, Public and Private Cloud, Managed Services, FinOps Services and Software and Hardware lifecycle Management
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across GTM/Sales, Solution Engineering, Marketing, services delivery, and commercial teams.
- Excellent communications, stakeholder management, and storytelling skills.
- Experience Managing Managed Services Organization / Procurement experience a plus.
- Strategic thinking with ability to connect market insights to business outcomes and revenue opportunities.
- Exceptional communication skills for executive presentations and cross-functional influence.
- Leadership capabilities to build and motivate high-performing research teams.
- Strong project management skills to oversee multiple complex research initiatives.
- Financial acumen to understand market economics and business model implications.
