| Job Description |
Operates, repairs, and tests real-time telemetry receiving systems, including but not limited to, tracking antennas, Radio Frequency (RF) amplifiers, multicouplers, receivers, combiners, patch panels, and recorders. Sets up and configures telemetry instrumentation and operating the equipment in support of test missions. Sets up an instrumentation van at remote locations, supporting the mission from the van, and system tear-down once testing is complete. Uses comprehensive technical knowledge and works from mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams and technical manuals to diagnose the source of the problem to effect repairs. Provides technical guidance and train lower level technicians. Works independently supporting operations and maintenance efforts with minimal direction. Guides a small group of technicians and manage small projects. Applies technical knowledge to solve complex problems associated with integrating systems and components. Interface with customers to determine technical support requirements. Performs other duties as required to complete the assigned mission. This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement. |
| Qualifications |
Pay Rate:$39.42
Education/Licenses/Certifications/Experience Requirements:
*Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
*Must have one of the following: 15 years directly-related experience, OR Bachelor's degree and seven (7) years directly-related experience, OR an Associate's degree or Military Training and nine (9) years directly-related experience.
*Must possess a CDL for driving of the Telemetry Vans when required by ADOT policies.
*Experience using test equipment like multi-meters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and Spectrum Analyzers.
*Must possess RF theory knowledge and experience.
Job Skills Requirements:
*Working knowledge of computer systems and software.
*Must be proficient with hand tools.
*Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
*Working knowledge of IRIG 106 standards concerning airborne transmitter systems and ground receiving/processing stations.
*Must have fluency with computers, use of test equipment (such as Spectrum Analyzers, multi-meters, and oscilloscopes), and basic hand tools to support and repair telemetry systems.
*Must uses comprehensive technical knowledge and works from mechanical drawings, electrical diagrams and technical manuals to diagnose the source of the problem to effect repairs.
*Must demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot and repair telemetry equipment problems.
*Apply technical knowledge to solve complex problems associated with integrating telemetry systems and components.
*Capable of using test equipment and schematics for troubleshooting.
Physical Requirements:
*Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.
*Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.
*Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions including summer temperatures peaking around 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
*Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
*Must meet the physical requirements necessary to perform operations outlined, performed, and stated in the SOPs for Instrumentation Data.

*Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice, to support test missions.
*Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions.
*Must have dependable transportation and a dependable means of communication.
Additional Desirable Qualifications:
*Previous experience operating, maintaining, and calibration of Telemetry transmit and receive systems.
Terms of Employment & Eligibility Requirements:
*Must be a U.S. Citizen.
*Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.
*Must be a current TRAX employee or affiliate subcontractor for internal postings.
