RECRUITMENT

  • Partners with campus departments to develop tailored recruitment strategies for hard-to-fill positions.
  • Utilizes varied sourcing channels and recruiting tools to identify and promote high-quality candidates for hiring supervisors or units soliciting interest.
  • Stays informed on recruitment trends and implements innovative techniques to enhance talent acquisition efforts.
  • May assist with other recruitment functions.

COMPENSATION AND CLASSIFICATION

  • Advises university leaders and HR partners on organizational structures, staff job classifications, and staff compensation strategies.
  • Supports the development of new staff positions and structural changes, ensuring compliance with FLSA, DOL regulations, and university compensation philosophy.
  • Reviews and develops staff job descriptions and classification questionnaires; analyzes market data, internal equity, and survey sources to recommend appropriate pay grade levels.
  • Analyzes market and internal equity salary data; provides guidance on staff job offers and salary adjustments related to hiring, equity, retention, and additional responsibilities.
  • Assists with merit preparations, implementation, and analysis.
  • Collaborates with the UM System Compensation & Classification team to implement changes to staff compensation and classification frameworks.
  • Represents UMSL on systemwide committees and project teams as assigned.

Performs other duties as assigned to support departmental and university goals.

Shift

8 am - 5 pm Monday-Friday; hybrid possible after training period

Minimum Qualifications

A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven success delivering innovating sourcing and recruiting strategies, preferably for complex organizations
  • Experience with writing attractive job postings, LinkedIn Recruiter, creating candidate pipelines, and candidate outreach
  • Experience in recruitment, training, compensation, and understanding HR-related regulations and compliance
  • Experience in multi-project management, particularly in higher education, government or similarly complex organizations
  • Previous experience negotiating competitive compensation and benefits packages
  • Persuasive and effective communication skills
Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $52,915.20 - $74,484.80

Grade: GGS-010
