Overview

The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable in welding processes, techniques, and safety procedures. The Weld Team Lead will direct or oversee a team of welders and will be responsible for ensuring that all jobs and projects are completed on time and meet the required standard of quality. Additionally, the Weld Team Lead will be accountable for safety and productivity of all employees on the designated shift.



Responsibilities

    Accountable for Safety, Quality and Productivity of all production employees on designated shift.
  • Plan and assign work to team members based on scheduled requirements and deadlines
  • Investigate, document and report all incidents (accidents, incidents, poor performance)
  • Creates and maintains a safe work environment with strict adherence to OSHA and other applicable regulatory compliance
  • Enable effective communication between management and hourly associates.
  • Train and mentor team members in welding techniques, equipment operation, and safety procedures
  • Monitor welding equipment, ensure good working condition, report any deficiencies.
  • Ensure that all welding work meets quality standards and customer specifications
  • Collaborate effectively and efficiently with other shifts and departments, promoting teamwork
  • Work with the supervisor/manager to ensure that all goals are being met on the designated shift
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or as the situation dictates


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • In-depth knowledge of Welding processes, and equipment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Effective organizational, communication and time management skills
  • Basic computer skills required using MS Office and ability to learn ERP Scheduling software.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role preferred

Environment: The work environment is a metal fabrication machine shop.
