About The Position

The Engineer will perform reliability and economic Transmission planning studies, with the primary responsibility being production cost analysis in support of Transmission and Generation expansion studies.

Key responsibilities include:

* Perform power-flow, short-circuit and reliability studies.

* Evaluate and determine the configuration and timing of new Transmission facilities or upgrades to the existing system.

* Perform studies to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations, including NERC.

* Participate in NERC and regional (SERC) standards development.

* Represent Ameren's interest in committees or working groups associated with MISO, SERC and other entities. Effectively share policy development in those committees and working groups, as necessary.

* Coordinate joint activities and studies with other departments, functions and companies.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university required. Emphasis in power systems preferred. Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred. Extensive knowledge of RTO and ISO markets with an emphasis on Transmission planning is preferred.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Thorough knowledge of PSS/E Power System Analysis software is preferred. Demonstrated analytical, decision-making and human relations skills required. Ability to work and communicate effectively with various levels of employees is required. Capability to work independently on major projects required.

Additional Information

Ameren's selection process includes a series of interviews and may include candidate testing and/or an individual aptitude or skill-based assessment. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.

Compensation Range:

$69,300.00 - $168,000.00

* This pay range encompasses multiple levels of the role. Career level and compensation depends upon applicant's credentials.

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
