About the Role:
We are currently seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Parts Advisor with a background in Caterpillar heavy equipment to join our team. With over 10 years of technician experience, you'll play a critical role in supporting both our service department and valued customers by offering in-depth technical support and accurate parts identification. Your expertise with SIS Web and DBS systems will be key to driving efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide expert-level support in identifying, sourcing, and ordering genuine Caterpillar parts using SIS Web and DBS systems.
* Serve as a technical resource for internal teams and customers, offering solutions to complex mechanical issues and part compatibility questions.
* Assist customers-including contractors, fleet managers, and field technicians-via phone, email, and in person with detailed, application-specific parts needs.
* Collaborate closely with service technicians to align parts availability with repair schedules, minimizing equipment downtime.
* Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and service manuals to ensure proper parts selection and installation support.
* Handle special orders, warranty claims, returns, and backorders in accordance with Caterpillar and dealer policies.
* Mentor junior staff by sharing technical knowledge, best practices, and SIS/DBS system usage.
* Help maintain optimal inventory levels and coordinate restocking of high-demand items.
