Executive Position Summary
The Director Power Plants provides executive leadership and oversight for all personnel and functions related to assigned power generating stations/facility(s)/assets. Functional responsibilities include safety culture, environmental/regulatory compliance, plant operations, maintenance work management, engineering, financial, business administration, risk management, and program/project management. This employee collaborates with plant teams, executive leadership, and enterprise shared services groups to develop and implement plant specific Business Plans and strategies to deliver on organizational objectives. Uses industry best practices to ensure for effective plant operations that lead to achieving business objectives while maintaining compliance with all Environmental, Safety & Health, and regulatory requirements. The Director broadly engages with personnel across CPS Energy to both offer and seek assistance in attaining Power Generation and Corporate goals. Minimum Skills
Minimum Knowledge and Abilities
Extensive experience in Power Plant management and in power plant Operations and Maintenance.
Ability to use the plant historian and other operating/monitoring/control systems.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.
Ability to direct multiple activities in a highly dynamic environment that requires continuous re-prioritization as determined by operational and maintenance situations that arise daily.
Ability to effectively communicate with Power Generation personnel and across other business units.
Experienced workforce leader skilled in teambuilding and performance management with strong coaching / mentoring skills including process implementation training and testing.
Ability to delegate assignments to appropriate parties.
Demonstrated ability to manage contract services.
Excellent communication skills - written, verbal, and presentations.
Working knowledge of work management systems such as - SAP, Maximo, etc.
Working knowledge of PI applications, GADS performance reporting.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Package, including word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software, electronic mail and scheduling.
Must have favorable driving record.
Valid Class C Texas Driver's License.
Understanding of applicable environmental and regulatory permits and limits. Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering, Business or related field from an accredited university or comparable industry experience. Required Certifications
Working Environment
Indoor work, operating computer, manual dexterity, talking, hearing, repetitive motion. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator. Ability to travel between business related events. Work hours may be extended. Physical Demands
