Facilities Engineers are critical team members that maintain and repair essential systems throughout the hospital that improve the patient experience at Ridgeview.

The ideal candidate will have building maintenance experience (healthcare industry preferred), ability to use basic computer systems (Microsoft products), and willing to learn and grow in healthcare facilities.

Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for managing and executing a wide variety of maintenance and repair tasks supporting multiple facilities.

Job Functions


  1. Can independently execute the following functions: basic/finish carpentry, basic electrical tasks, small equipment operation, basic plumbing tasks, physical movement of furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  2. Can execute the following functions under supervision/guidance from others: lawncare, lock, key and hardware tasks, motor repair, pump repair, hospital beds, kitchen equipment, medical gas and air systems, water softening systems, domestic hot/cold water systems.
  3. Demonstrates the ability to independently troubleshoot, identify, follow up and correct a variety of building deficiencies.
  4. Coordinates assigned areas of responsibility to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  5. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education/Work Experience


  • High school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities


  • Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
  • Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Demonstrates effective skills in planning and organizing daily activities
  • Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a team

License/Certifications


  • Valid MN driver's license and meets Ridgeview's insurability requirements
  • Hazardous Spill Certification within 1 year of employment, annually thereafter
  • Asbestos Awareness Certification within 1 year of employment, annually thereafter
  • OSHA Certification within 1 year of employment, annually thereafter

Preferred Qualifications


  • 2 years of work experience in a healthcare setting
  • CPR Certification

Compensation

Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation such as: the requirements of the position, experience, education, knowledge, and skills along with location and internal equity. Pay listed does not include any shift, weekend, or other differentials.
