Summary The Senior Procedure Writer performs heavy editing of technical procedures and performs research-based writing in the development of administrative procedures. The individual will promote and uphold the adherence and adoption of procedure writing and document control standards and practices with peers, co-workers and management. Responsibilities
Researches existing organizational and enterprise directives, policies, supporting documents, referenced procedures and manuals to provide added assurance of the accuracy and alignment of new documents Supports the Procedures Group by performing a variety of writing, project management and system administration tasks involving various levels of difficulty and complexity Works independently and collaboratively with peers, technical authors, subject matter experts and managers to complete complex writing tasks in a timely manner Prepares progress reports for management on assigned project initiatives Provides oversight under general direction and with little day-to-day supervision and an increased attitude for unreviewed work performed on behalf of internal and external contacts for various sites, projects and activities Demonstrates proficiency in procedure writing and editing Possesses the knowledge and capability to coherently integrate broad, overarching concepts into the content of higher-level procedure and policy documents Develops documents under general direction and collaboration of subject matter experts and senior management representatives Performs heavy editing of technical procedures and often expands to research-based writing in the development of administrative procedures Promotes and upholds the adherence and adoption of procedure writing and document control standards and practices with peers, co-workers and management Performs a variety of writing, project management and system administration tasks involving various levels of difficulty and complexity Prepares and delivers presentations as requested for multiple levels within the organization Consults and collaborates with peers and others to solve straight forward problems with document content and structure Possesses ability to present administrative, technical, and operational information clearly and effectively through the oral and written word as well as diagrams and charts Uses advanced technical writing knowledge to write and maintain new/revised manuals, bulletins, implementation packages, and other technical documentation including online help screens and online documentation for intranet web sites Works independently with minimal guidance with internal and external contacts to provide procedure writing services for Renewables sites or projects and activities and in some cases directs other procedure writer staff to perform and complete required tasks Performs as project administrator or RPG Lead in cross-functional initiatives Develops and leads development of required procedures/policies and documents to support the operations and maintenance activities Contributes input for the continued development of the Company Renewable overall procedure writing Programs Performs as administrator of the Change Management Process as assigned Performs other duties as requested
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications or related field 3 years or more of technical or administrative procedure writing experience In lieu of a degree, 8 years or more of relevant working experience
Desired Qualifications
3 years or more of technical or administrative procedure writing experience in Engineering, Operations, Construction, Renewable Energy or a related industry Procedure writing management experience and working knowledge of power generation industry Graphic design experience SharePoint, Excel, Adobe, and other related application experience Extensive experience with Microsoft Office and other related technologies Experience partnering with governance groups, official approval processes and working with policy and procedure systems Professional Procedure Association certified or the ability to complete Considered an expert at writing Standard Operation Procedures and Policies (SOPS) Will have demonstrated safety, technical, and administrative knowledge, as well as performed work in a highly professional manner
Working Conditions
This position is located in Charlotte, NC Hybrid work schedule-hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to the designated Deriva Energy facility
